The Department of Organic Chemistry and Technology of Organic Substances trains students in specialty 161 "Chemical Technologies and Engineering".

Procedure for admission to higher education in 2023

Open days are held at the department of OH and TOR, as well as at the faculty, to prepare young people for admission to training areas and programs of professional orientation, familiarization with the conditions of study, teaching staff of the department. At the faculty of pre-university training, applicants listen to a course in chemistry and receive additional points when enrolling in Igor Sikorskyi KPI at the Faculty of Chemical Technology.

A high level of training of specialists is ensured by the availability of the necessary educational material and technical base. In the course of studying chemical, engineering and special disciplines, students perform a large amount of laboratory work, therefore graduates of the department acquire stable skills in conducting chemical experiments. The vast majority of students participate in research work under the guidance of highly qualified employees of the department and leading scientists of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine.

The training of a specialist in this specialty involves the formation of certain professional competencies, which include knowledge and skills in managing technological processes of production and processing of organic substances and fine organic synthesis; design of technological processes and installations for the production and processing of organic substances and materials; organization of production and processing of organic substances and materials, as well as management of the entire complex of production works at enterprises and in structural divisions of the corresponding profile; development and registration of normative documents of the organization and management of production chemical and technological processes; planning, organization and provision of professional activities at enterprises of a chemical profile, etc.

The objects of professional activity of the specialist are processes of oil refining, basic organic and petrochemical synthesis, production of paints and varnishes, polymer materials, chemical fibers, fibrous materials.

Graduates work in leading Ukrainian and global companies, including ALT Europe Group, Makrochem PJSC, Khimlaborreaktiv LLC, and Ukrorgsintez.
